A Wild Card Kiss
by Lauren Blakely
I adored A Wild Card Kiss. fuschia boots, ax throwing, a drag queen, 80's night, and Monkey Bread.
Let's just get down to it, a bride who caught her mom kissing her soon-to-be groom on her wedding day……this had my attention and I knew this was going to be an entertaining read. I was not disappointed. Katie is sassy, vivacious, and fun-loving. Harlan is charming, flirty, and sexy. These two kept me turning the pages. They have undeniable chemistry and a promise of a future relationship but the timing is never right.
Harlan and Katie meet at a wedding seven years ago. The next time they see each other, it's Katie in a wedding dress…….and fuschia boots sitting at a bowling alley bar. Even though the timing is still wrong they go on an adventure to a costume shop and 80's dance club. When fall comes they are optimistic that the timing is finally right and the 3rd time is a charm. Until his team hires her to teach yoga, making him a client. Faced with a team no fraternization policy and a no dating clients policy, these two resist their chemistry and a friendship develops as they consider their options and wait for their time to come.
I loved their chemistry and the way their relationship develops. Their connection felt real. I loved their flirty interactions, in person and through text. The book was entertaining and an easy read. I absolutely adored Harlan and his daughter Abby's relationship….they bake pies together and love Dolly ❤️
