Ramona and Her Father by Beverly Cleary

4.0

Finally, some consecutive publishing..... last novel and this one were published in 1975. Maybe she wrote them back to back??

There is definitely a different tone with this one. The first one was the 1950's nuclear family. Very Ozzy and Harriett/ Leave it to Beaver tone. This one screams mid 70's Women's Movement. There is a TV in the home that gets watched, Dad gets laid off and has to take care of the house/ kids (mom still has to cook dinner every night after work), Mom goes to work full time, the hazards/costs of Dad's smoking!! Reminds me of Mr. Mom, which didn't come out until the early 80's.

The plots are getting better.
