Such a beautiful book. If you haven't read this gem yet, go get it now!
It begins with Wallace, a grumpy young executive, having a discussion with one of his employees. This is the epitome of miscommunication - she's thankful he understands all that she's been going through; he's firing her.
Shortly thereafter, Wallace dies suddenly and Mei, a 'reaper' brings him to the 'ferryman'. The ferryman, Hugo, lives in what looks like a Tea Shop to the locals, but is actually a place where people are brought after passing to cross to what is next.
While on this journey, we learn about Wallace, Mei, Hugo, Nelson, and others that come to the Tea Shop. A touching story that is both comedic and empathetic. TJ Klune delivers a story that will make the reader think about life, love, death and so much more. You will feel for these characters, cheer for them and cry for them.
Highly recommend!
