I saw the movie years ago and loved it. Then, I discovered that it was a book first, bought it online and it sat on a shelf for a couple years until I unearthed it. It's not a traditional book - it is just an exchange of letters and a friendship that formed between two people who never met. It's an insight into the bygone days of actual pen-to-paper letter writing. As a person who also made a life-long friend through a pen-pal situation, I adored this book and what it represents.

If anything because it's Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins with a bit of Judi Dench thrown in for good measure. You won't regret it.
