I enjoyed the first few hundred pages and then found it to be rather boring. Although I will say that it was a relief to see Theo make so many mistakes it made me feel as though no matter how badly I mess up, it wouldn't be as bad as the situations he finds himself creating.
I was expecting to like this book more than I did having previously thoroughly enjoyed The Secret History also by Donna Tart, and while the characters were very fleshed out (I loved Hobie) and the settings were impressively emotive I found the plot and Theo's character to be kind of annoying and boring.
