Elvis and Me: The True Story of the Love Between Priscilla Presley and the King of Rock N' Roll
by Priscilla Beaulieu Presley
Elvis and Prescilla’s relationship was majorly icky considering their age gap and power dynamics (enforced by age, gender, money, and Elvis’ general manipulation). I think Prescilla was trying to counter criticisms of Elvis as a master manipulator and drug addict, but to me (who only knows vaguely about Elvis’ substance problems and legacy), she failed in that mission. My dislike for Elvis grew as I read, and so did my sympathy for Prescilla. But, I did find the story very interesting, and it was SUCH an easy read, so it’s four stars from me.
