"Please tell me that I dont sound like THAT" -Spensa
"A pox of unique human diseases - many of which cause an uncomfortable swelling - come upon you"
- MBot
"Oh, scud, that IS how I sound isnt it?!"
IT?!"
- Spense
To say that I loved this book is an understatement. I found that I completely connected with every character, who were all brass, asskicking, badasses who all have anxiety and some sort of sadness they work through in this book. Which made them even better that I could ever imagine.
Spensa's relationship with Cobb and M-bot had my heart aching. She just wanted to be accepted, and in the end. She was.
Mental health is a huge part of this book, with people dealing with Anxiety, depression and PTSD and this book nailed it when it came to proper representation, Sanderson did it so effectively and sincerely.
With a powerful impactful message, of doing what you think is right is to be truly Defiant!!
