Just no.

This book started off pretty promising. I mean, I love me good wedding thriller. (Call me a romantic.) But I quickly realised that our narrator is an asshole. Compared to the other character's he's supposed to be the good guy, but he was sooo condescending, grouchy and judgy about certain topics. Why, Frank? Why are you calling a couple with big age gap "unnatural, a freakish mutation of human biology"? Why are you so condescending towards a ten year old foster kid who can't help it that she has to tag along, and just wants some human connection?

I mean, I love an unlikable character as much as the next person, but Frank's character was way too flat for me to hate (or love) him. Which is something that extends to the other characters. I feel like they embodied tropes and stereotypes in order to move the plot in a specific direction more so than being fully fleshed-out characters.  The lack of depth in these characters actually made me root for the bad guys.

Besides the characters, the story was pretty boring. The plot plays out very straightforwardly and doesn't give much in terms of shock. All-in-all it was pretty predictable. I was pretty glad to see the end of this one.
