Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
by Philip K. Dick
dark

Plot or Character Driven:
A mix
I forgot to log this when i read it i can’t remember the very insightful stuff i def had to say at the time, alas i will have to wing it:
- again i find myself feeling slightly annoyed by some of the themes of like ~finding truth behind the apparent reality~ bc of the hours of my life i’ve spent looking after people experiencing crack psychosis and how tiring I personally found that
- HOWEVER i shouldn’t let that put me off cos again I like how Philip K Dick writes this stuff and i like it almost as a study of paranoia as well
- (disclaimer - I am not saying this to mock him or the book or anyone experiencing psychosis or paranoia, - drug-induced or not - and i think a bit of paranoia is good for the soul)
- I’m also sort of a conspiracy guy myself anyway & ppl in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones
- v funny and silly, enjoyed the selfishness and jealousy
- I think because i knew elements of the plot and i know what Mr Dick is about, I wasn’t like taken aback by how good it was or anything, cos it read like how I expected it to read, but I appreciate this as an iconic work and sort of a classic, and it’s definitely worth reading
