comedywriter 's review for:
The Hustler
by Walter Tevis
Eddie Felson is moving towards the highest point of his pool-hustling career--he's going big. The first few chapters I kept thinking, 'This is no The Queen's Gambit,' but then the magic happens, I'm alive in his world and it's poetry and we're flying. A book's this good and my life can be in the toilet and it doesn't matter because great books make me see past the garbage to what means something and when you can see it it's part of you and no one can take that away.
