i genuinely don’t know what to write for this book. i was so entertained by it even though it literally had no plot whatsoever. i have a love hate relationship with the narrator cause she was relatable at times with her obsession with whoopi goldberg and finding tiny little ways to fill her time with movies and coffee runs but so unlikeable with the way she treated reva and the people in her environment. i mean it was a perfect depiction of the headspace she was in and it was executed phenomenally. she was funny at times but i still can’t pin point why i was so entertained and made it through the end with this book.
i think the way this book is written really elevated the experience because you are aware the narrator is conscious of her privilege and her reasoning for being in everyone’s lives was that.
i feel like a take away i did get from this book was to find appreciation for the parts of life where i have no control over it. there’s so much going on in reality that it’s important to be aware of it and take advantage of its beauty. there’s more to life than the situations i deal with personally which i think was a good like closing statement?
i’ll give it a solid 4 stars only because i did enjoy it and there was a moral i did walk away with.
