Less by Andrew Sean Greer
4.0
A refreshing summer read. I absolutely loved Greer’s writing style (I seemed to read it in my head in the voice of the 500 Days of Summer narrator) and I was captured by the way he described even the simplest of things. Arthur Less was a funny, eccentric character, and he was a joy to follow through his around-the-world journey.
Greer loves the long dash—and as a lover of the long dash, that really called to me. There was a lot of whit and charm in the way he described Less’s unfortunate scenarios, and the culmination of the narrators story and Arthur’s was fantastic. To reemphasize—Greer’s writing was phenomenal and the biggest selling point of this book.
