Chasing Chaos: My Decade in and Out of Humanitarian Aid by Jessica Alexander

3.0

I wanted so much more from this book. While it was incredibly interesting and the historical backfill was succinct and well done, I couldn’t help but continuously revisit the fact that the author is just not a writer. As many reviews say- it lacked depth and description. For me, it read very flatly until she talks about her mother toward the end. While it wasn’t the best memoir I ever read, it was the first I’ve read from the perspective of a humanitarian aid worker, so it was a quick and interesting read.
