The blurb on the back sounded promising, but the story eventually fell flat for me. I didn't like any of the characters, who all made one bad decision after another and never redeemed themselves. This might have been the intention of the author, but it made the book difficult to read for me. I liked the small-town setting, which felt just as claustrofobic as it should be.

The story itself contained many dark themes, which could have been explored more deeply. The writing style was engaging enough to keep me reading until the end, but much of the mystery remained unresolved.

If you like unsettling books with dark themes, toxic girlhood friendships and unlikable protagonists, you'll like this one.
