The Last Time We Say Goodbye
by Cynthia Hand
(3.5/5)
I had high hopes for this book. I wanted to read it for over a year and when I finally got my hands on it, I was more than excited. Although now having finished it, I feel kinda dissapointed. At first it seemed pretty good, I liked most of the characters except for the main one, Lex, in a way (she is low-key selfish apart from the justified behavior of hers while in the process of overcoming Ty's suicide). The plot was okay, it's like any other book that deals with suicide/ teen problems.
One thing that didn't sit right with me has to do with the fact that suicide was "contagious"in this book. That is, after Ty's death a couple of incidents followed that resulted in me thinking of this that way. The ending was 'powerful' and yes I cried for a moment.
Overall it was a good book, even though it wasn't sth extraordinary
(it is my first book review ever so bear with me)
