The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

4.0

What a brilliant novel, I couldn’t put this down and read through it in a couple of days! This is a beautiful romance plagued with uncertainty and tragedy. Niffenegger’s prose is so interesting and the way she brings together all of the different time slots is explosive by the end of the novel, every little memory of Henry and Claire has an important place. There are times of incredible beauty and times of incredible sadness but you fall in love with Henry and Claire, Henry being the most loveable of rogues. It explores the limits of what we can love and how soon this love can start to blossom. You really feel for Henry’s inability to control his time travel and throughout the novel you long for him to find a way to anchor himself to his present, to live a normal life with the woman he loves. But it is of course this time travel that makes this story so unusual and so indulgent. This novel is much deserving of its popularity, and it is definitely one of a kind!
