I was fully pulled into this story and loved the fact that it almost tries to explain the science behind necromancy and how they can enhance their abilities. Gideon is sassy and hilarious; her quips make the descriptions perfect, even if they are not that descriptive. There is one part that felt rushed so that it fit with the end, but it's forgiven because the rest of the book was so enjoyable.
Graphic: Body horror, Death, Blood, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Emotional abuse, Genocide
