Sisters by Raina Telgemeier
3.0
I liked Smile & Drama better, but this adds some dimension to the family, and is perfectly good enough when a young person wants to read more about the same people.
I guess I felt the characters were not fully developed - I didn't feel connected to anyone in the story at all. I have 2 sisters, and I have certainly experienced (& remember well) the bickering and just the incomprehensible agony of apparently ordinary life. I also have experienced the surreal weirdness of parents acting hostile & keeping secrets when they're about to get divorced. (...from both sides, at this point.)
I wanted the details & experiences described here to shed some light, or to show some universal connection, or to make me laugh. Instead, it just felt like going along, going along, going along...
