mguynes 's review for:
How to Be Remy Cameron
by Julian Winters
How to be Remy Cameron is a fun, YA novel surrounding the life of Remy Cameron. Remy is on a quest to find himself. He doesn't want to settle for the labels that would normally define him, he wants to go much deeper than that.
This book reminded me of Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda, so if you loved that book- you NEED to read this one.
Things I liked:
- I love beagles, and Remy has a beagle. In fact, I read this book because there was a beagle on the cover, with a post-it note that says "Beagle."
- I love Remy's funny awkwardness. I definitely relate.
- Remy and Ian are so cute!
- Remy is very similar to Simon from Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda, so obviously he is amazing.
- Remy is just an awesome character in general, and I feel like we would be great friends.
- The ending was cute and adorable.
- I love how at the end, Remy discovers what it means to be himself and to be the only who defines who he is.
