Stars in Your Eyes by Kacen Callender

Hmmm. I'm not sure how I feel about this book.
I think the mental health rep is brilliantly done. There's so much trauma and darkness in this story, but the healing journey is very tender and ultimately powerful.

However.. I couldn't feel the chemistry between the MCs. At all. Their entire relationship felt rushed, forced. I liked both main characters individually, how they both dealt with their problems, but the romance aspect of the book really lacked, I think. This is definitely not a romance book, even if there's a HEA. But it doesn't read like one.

One more thing that threw me off was the structure of the book. I ended up liking the social media/blog posts, interviews or newspaper clippings in the end.. but the way the writing was switching between the actual book and the plot of the movie they were filming in the book was so damn confusing. I was a bit lost.

Overall, I liked it. But didn't love it. I think this book would have worked better without the romance part. It should have been about healing alone.
