This was a book I read shortly before joining Goodreads so the fact I actively searched for it to review should tell you something. It really saved me from my reading slump seeing as i hadn't read for almost a year
This book is masterfully crafted, it sheds light to some of the hardships that women go through. Unpopular opinion but I don't consider this a romance book. Sure, the main character has a love interest but to me, the book doesn't heavily focus on that, it's more about a woman finding the strength to break out from a toxic relationship. And I love the way Kennedy Ryan depicts her toxic boyfriend, a rotten and manipulative guy with all the charm, it brings a sense of realism, not all people who look good are actually good (I'm looking at you, serial killers in jail with multiple fan base)
And can I just go on a tangent and say, 1) I'm so happy he got what he deserved
2) Both iris and lotus are my queens.
Yes, a wonderful place to end this review to this amazing book.
(Edit- Just realised I picked this book initially because I wanted to read a basketball romance and I didn't even mention anything about that
