I first became acquainted with Marcus Samuelsson when he appeared on Top Chef Masters and found his personal history intriguing. I enjoyed the book for its insights into his background, his road to chefdom, and the challenges he faced along the way. That being said, the book could have used better editing . . . the narrative was disjointed at times.
