I’m giving a 4 because I was engrossed in the story for the majority (more than I was for the other books), BUT.. no spoilers, I am a bit confused about the last third of the book really.
The pace felt off all of a sudden, especially considering it’s a slow pace in all the other books, and the first half of this one. Some plot twists were cool, but a few key others felt completely out of the blue and so sudden. Normally there are SOME hints where you can guess but this felt a bit like “ta da this is the plot twist” without warning, but not in a “omg that was a cool twist” way, but more in a feeling cheated way. Also felt the book started / had quite similar themes to the others, so felt a bit repetitive.
Still happy I followed through and finished the story as I did enjoy it. Easy, YA read that would be especially great for people new to the genre or people in their teens or early adulthood. Or for those who just want an easy fantasy series :)
