I found the premise of this book very intriguing, but ultimately it was a bit of a disappointment. It felt very inconsistently plotted. Some stretches felt like a real slog. It also frustrated me that Mary Shelley didn't really feel like a protagonist. She was pulled along by the will of others. This is Mary Shelley . Give her some agency.
