Feel like there was a lot more that could've been done to make this even better. Don't get me wrong, it kept me gripped the whole way and the writing is super easy to get through while also understanding the magic system easily, but the ending was quite rushed imo. the yearning from Gideon though???? ugh pulled at all of my heart strings. I wish they were able to communicate better as adults though because the miscommunication was STRONG in this one. Rune was quite cunning but I wish we got to see a bit more of her capabilities instead of the same spells. I also feel like Rune and Cressida never really had a confrontation about the whole situation with her as verity so I would've liked a bit more attention on that. The ending was pretty rushed, I think the climax could've been elevated a bit more because I feel like cressida was hyped up alot but didnt really have a significant impact in the ending. Plot twists in this one were also very predictable. Overall it was another solid read that did keep me entertained. I would recommend this duology but keep in mind that its a fantasy romance that focuses mainly on the romance.
