roxy88 's review for:

Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill
4.0

I'm really struggling with this review...I think it would have been a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the ending. There is so many emotions running through my head, that I can't decided whether to cry or laugh hysterically. But I'm getting ahead of myself I'll start from the beginning.

This book was a turning point for Merit, she's grown up and has really begun to understand her job as Sentinel. More and more Raves are popping up around town making a bad name for vampires when they really don't need any bad press right now. We get to see more of Jonah in this book as he teams up with Merit to find out what is happening at the raves and even warms up to her a bit, maybe a little too much?? Merit and Ethan have a week according to Tate to sort this out and put a stop to it or he will arrest Ethan.

Ethan is nearly a completely different person in this book, he tries SO hard to get Merit back and seems to genuinely regret breaking things off with her. Merit struggles with believing him since he basically broke her heart last time she gave in, it was very interesting watching these two interact throughout the book and walk the razor edge of a professional and romantic relationship.

AND now to the ending...I won't say what happened but it is HUGE. A major risk to take, I personally didn't like this risk unless it is rectified somehow in the next book which I doubt. Hence only giving this book a 4 star rating. I'm curious to see where Chloe Neill is going next with this series.
