The Midnight Girls by Alicia Jasinska

Did not finish book. Stopped at 56%.
This book has a very "and then this happened, and then that happened" disjointed structure, which I assume is why some people have commented that they had a hard time getting through it. There's no clear thread, no clear cause-and-effect driving the story. It feels like the author had an idea for an enemies to lovers story but didn't have a solid plot to bind all the character moments together.

The beginning should've been at least twice as long to actually build some feelings of companionship between Zosia and Marynka before the reveal. I also found myself rolling my eyes at how often and easily they got away with their schemes to get close to the prince.

I might revisit this someday when I have more patience for this kind of thing, but right now I just get annoyed every time I read it.
