Go Truck Yourself by J.R. Hart

emotional lighthearted medium-paced

4.0

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily posting a review. All opinions are my own.
Go Truck Yourself is J.R. Hart’s second contribution to the Clover Hill Romance world and the seventh book overall. As before, the connections are purely tangential, although I love how the shared-world has grown over the course of the series.
I love the dynamic between Myla and Zo. They have a history as friends, although it soured turning them into enemies, and I appreciated how the “why” of it was addressed, amid the tension around their rival food-trucks.
Unlike Hart’s prior contribution to this world, their aromanticism and asexuality is much less part of their respective arcs, with each of them largely allowed to just be who they are. However, I like how it’s a story just as much about mending the bond that they had, as well as moving forward as queerplatonic partners and establishing a deeper companionship in that way.
This is another fun read from a fun series, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for short queer small-town  romance.
