4.0

The pirate lord: slow, but necessary to set up both sam and rolfe for later use. lets celaena learn she can depend on others

The healer: yrene is such a relatable character– everyone can understand feeling helpless. its crazy that one act of kindness can have such impact

The desert: I have such a love and hate relationship with this story. the relationships seem to go too fast, especially when its only a months worth of in-world time, but at the same time the bonds formed somehow seem real and genuinely hurt later on.

The underworld: really sets up arobyn and lysandra, and builds even further on sam. also helps show how young and arrogant celaena can be. and arobyn can find a very deep well to throw himself down.

The empire: sam :( arobyn >:(

always conflicted where to read this. it is obviously a prequel, but its a hard beginning read. reading it after hof is what ive always done, maybe ill try after com next time.
