I found this book really clever and original, while not being so at pains to prove its intelligence as to be dense and difficult at all. It's approachable in its metafictional elements and really quite propulsive. The turns of phrase — sparing, yet so true to life — made me wish I'd written them. I also found myself quite instantly invested in the character relationships and turning pages to find out what would happen. Now I want to read everything else that Emily Adrian has written.
