This book bears very little resemblance to the show, and I loved it. It's a little bit hard to follow, and there are a lot of minor characters that feel like they either don't make much of a difference to the plot or will never be important again, but the world expansion is really satisfying, and there's lots of character growth that feels earned and interesting. I appreciated how much the book highlighted that although the power players may have thought the war was over, the commonfolk knew better. This series continues to be brutal (although this is definitely not as dark of a book as the third book), and I continue to enjoy it immensely!
Moderate: Bullying, Confinement, Cursing, Death, Gore, Sexism, Sexual content, Slavery, Violence, Blood, Kidnapping, Grief, Cannibalism, Religious bigotry, Murder, Alcohol, Colonisation, War, Injury/Injury detail, and Classism
