Hello Girls by Emily Henry, Brittany Cavallaro

3.75

Despite the incredible trauma these 17 and 18-year old girls have been through, this was a fun ride. You have to suspend reality obviously, because the situations they’re in are dangerous and likely would *not* have turned out the way they did. I mean, they
kill a well known and dangerous drug lord and hold a gun to Stormy’s head
and then still get to run off into the sunset. It’s a messy story that’s somehow so clean. My big complaint is that I do feel like we focused a lot more on Winona here and I would’ve liked to explore Lucille’s current sitch as well. Winona wrapped everything up nicely enough in her life, but Lucille deserved to get back at her brother and she deserves to have her mom at least acknowledge (or not!) her leaving. I get maybe the reality is that Lucille will never know, but because we got
both of Winona’s parents’ setups
, I would’ve liked Lucille’s too.
