What an excellent look at the repercussions faced by an individual cast into the roles and responsibilities of Chosen One from a young age.  The use of official documents and reports as well as narrative storytelling provided context and a depth of pain to Sloane's story. Her development was center stage to the story, and her anger, fear, frustration, need to be left alone...so much was heart-wrenching to see. We tell these stories about the kids that prophecy says will save the world, and then barely spare a thought for how they would operate in the aftermath, how they would be treated, how society would feel like they were owed a piece of them...

A truly excellent story, very gripping and tense and sad and emotional in so many places. I loved it.
