Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions by Mario Giordano

3.0

If I could, I’d give this a 3.5 stars. It was a fun read with a new quirky detective who is easy to love. If you’ve ever seen the show Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, then Auntie Poldi is an older version of Phryne Fisher. Narrated through the eyes of Poldi’s nephew, the book in the beginning, felt a little sluggish. It took me a few chapters to get used to the changing narrative voices. I definitely suggest reading this in large chunks to be able to follow the story and characters. I will be reading book 2 coming out next spring.
