The Ex Talk
by Rachel Lynn Solomon
funny
hopeful
relaxing
medium-paced
Diverse cast of characters:
Yes
this book fell off HARD in the third act. which was a shame because although the first two acts weren’t groundbreaking or amazing literature, it was enjoyable and i was having fun. it just got so boring. the ending was rushed, by the third sex scene i was bored and the two main characters became a bit annoying honestly. which was a shame.
i will say this book does diversity very well. usually in romcoms a white author will just throw in a non-white best friend and call it a day, whereas this cast was much more well rounded. and most of the humour landed! not all, there was a bit of cringe, but overall most was good!
