Black Holes: The Key to Understanding the Universe by Brian Cox, Jeff Forshaw

informative inspiring fast-paced

5.0

Great overview of what black holes are and how we can understand them with the laws of physics. We follow the journey of scientific discovery from Albert Einstein’s special and general relativity theory to holography and quantum computing to understand how these concepts relate to black holes and how the research on black holes in turn has influenced the discovery of new concepts and laws. While the maths does not exceed Pythagoras, this is definitely not a candy read. Nonetheless, a great non-fiction book for a gentle introduction into the research surrounding black holes.
