The Dark Angel by Elly Griffiths

4.0

This is the 10th book in the series about Ruth Galloway, forensic archaeologist and academic. This is a series that really needs to be read in sequence, because it's as much about the lives of the characters as it is a mystery. While the books sometimes feel like the same story rewritten with minor changes, this one is quite different as it is set in Italy. Ruth has been invited by a former flame - and fellow archaeologist - to give advice on a recent excavation. I enjoyed the change in location and I enjoyed the increasing tension between Nelson and Ruth. I am very, very curious to know what will happen in the next book!
