Anzu the Great Kaiju by Benson Shum

I loved this book about a kaiju whose identity perplexes his family. Anzu tries and tries to be what the family expects but finally everyone accepts that Anzu is doing things his way and that it is extraordinary.

PROBLEM: When Anzu makes flower garlands fall from the sky onto his village, the villagers put them on and dance the hula. The landscape does not look particularly Hawaiian. I wish they did something else that was not appropriating Hawaiian culture.
