For a romance, it is hard to reach the 4 or 5 star level in my book. Intoxication is a hard exception. I love the writing, the characters, the tension, the flow and on... My heart broke with Sia and then again with Drake and all over again with Rayden. They are a beautiful family who made some mistakes and one woman took advantage of all of them to break them down. I am only happy that it ended in an HEA or I would have crumbled too. I was not sure how much more I could withstand.
Just to clarify, it was tension that lingered throughout the story. Not angst, not drama but a lingering tension from bad choices made from desperation and longing which caused more tension. It did explode, but from that explosion came a peace and calm once the dust settled.
This is a beautiful story of love, longing, family and forgiveness with a bit of amazing smexy times thrown in. I highly recommend this book and author, you will not be disappointed.
