I was struggling to get into it in the beginning, but was glued to my book by the halfway point. I noticed a lot of people didn't enjoy it as much because it wasn't similar to the Nightborn Duet. Overall it's the same world, but different characters and vibes. It is much more enjoyable when you think of it that way. That being said, I am very excited for book 2 in this duet!! I hope the second half for the Shadowborn duet doesn't let me down like the last half of the Nightborn duet did.
