This book is so long, it truly could be two different books: one detailing Feyre’s return and devastation of the Spring court and one of the Court of Dreams preparing for war. I almost forgot that Feyre bringing down the Spring Court even happened in this book because so many other things happened after, even though I enjoyed her time as a spy so much more than the war storyline. War books, even fantasy ones, get tedious very quickly. It’s pretty handy that the crew could figure out exactly what the evil king was thinking and had already anticipated. As they went into the true battle, it’s hard not to laugh at all the secret ally reveals that just keep coming. It felt a little like when the Avengers face Thanos and everyone gets their little moment to enter and look cool before they dove into the fight.
