I read this SO fast. My eyes could not move fast enough to consume this story.
I never would have read this had it not been for the book club I’m in but I’m so glad I did. It’s horrific and imaginative. Uncle Earl and Simon are two of most interesting side characters. Kara’s inner dialogue was entertaining - as was everything that came out of Uncle Earl’s mouth.
However, it was freaky but in an other worldly way and less in a something is going to get me when I walk past my bed or jump at me from behind a shower curtain.
All that to say, even if horror (?) isn’t your thing, you may still like this.
