Crossed by Ally Condie

Decent. Doesn't recap what happened in Matched so helps to have read it recently. I had a hard time remembering some of the things referenced. This book alternates chapters between Cassia and Ky, and while it's nice to hear Ky's perspective, sometimes in the middle of the chapter, it's difficult to remember who's narrating. Crossed is much more about character development than world-building, though we do learn a little more about the Society and those who are on the outside of it. It's heavy romance-centered though, and sometimes the voices felt overly dramatic, which became annoying. At times the characters' actions were hard to understand too. It wasn't until around Chapter 37 that it finally really started to get more exciting for me. If the purpose of the middle book is to move the characters and plot along, this works without being outstanding on its own. I'm interested to see how the trilogy will end.
