"Gambler's Fallacy" is the second book in the series and it can't be read as a standalone. I'm not going to spoil anything in this review.
I loved the second book as much as the first. It was intense and emotional and there was great character growth for all four main characters.
I really liked Caleb in this book, I think we got to know him better and he felt more relatable. The storyline with Havoc's mother broke my heart and I thought that it was very important for the story and it helped Havoc understand Seven better. I hope we'll get a resolution in the next book. I also really liked learning more about Vortex's past and his relationship with his sister and I hope we get to see his sister grow.
Seven was my favorite. Sometimes it was really hard to be in his point of view, it hurt and I actually had to stop reading for a while during one scene because it was too painful. His situation feels so desperate but we are slowly seeing him getting better.
The action scene towards the end of the book was very well written and had me worried for the characters and bitting my fingernails. There was also an amazing twist that I didn't see coming.
This is a really great series and the second book was absolutely fantastic. I can't wait for book three, I need to find out what will happen next.
