Halo: The Flood by William C. Dietz

Did not finish book. Stopped at 20%.
Okay, echoing what basically everyone else says about this book, it's too overstuffed with play-by-play recreations from the game to be engaging. The parts without Master Chief are interesting but not enough to keep me engaged. I'd rather just read a summary of those parts.

Also, and this is super specific, but the narrator doesn't do the same inflections of lines taken directly from the game. That doesn't make or break things, I guess, but I just don't like it.

While I'm interested in Halo lore, maybe this was a poor first choice. Plus, there is such a thing as getting too much lore. Sometimes I wonder if the Halo franchise is best because there's so much mystery if you look at it from just the (first three) games.
