Tropes: Paranormal, Reverse Harem, Fated Mates, β€œWho Hurt You”
Plus a few of our other favorites that you’ll have to discover for yourselves. 😏😈

Thank you to Veronica Eden & Wildfire Marketing Solutions for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Grab the popcorn and settle in, babes. It’s a long one.

Hell Gate was my first Veronica Eden book, but not my first paranormal or reverse harem. What was new to me was Veronica’s take on paranormal. I’ve not run across very many paranormal books that focus on demons. We often see Lucifer mentioned, but primarily the market lies in shifters/vampires (thanks, twilight). I love that this story highlighted the demon side of paranormal and may have ruined me for vampire stories forever.

With her winged eyeliner and body-positive thick thighsπŸ–€πŸ–€πŸ–€, Lily, our FMC, always felt like she never belonged. β€œLily is withdrawn… Lily is too much to handle… Lily got into fights at school….” Just before her 18th birthday, when she lands in her final β€œhome” and is dared to go to an old cemetery.

Cue the men.

The knight
The trickster
The warrior

The second you meet the men, they’ll entirely consume you. 😈😏 You get to learn their backstories and fall in love with them right along with Lily at a pace that feels natural, but of course, I always fall hardest for the last one to open up, but gods, was he worth the wait.

Veronica’s writing of this story made it entirely challenging to put down, and if I didn’t have to work, sleep, and do anything other than reading, I would have finished this in a day. All 467 glorious pages. The spice isn’t overdone. It moves the plot along but doesn’t feel forced, but that's all you'll get out of me on that piece. 🀐

Hell Gate is easily a top 5 read for this year already. It’ll be hard-pressed to beat this book now.
