This Is How You Lose the Time War by Max Gladstone, Amal El-Mohtar

5.0

Playful and passionate

"I veer rhapsodic. My prose purples."

I've seen negative reviews dismiss the writing. They miss the playfulness and passion of the story. It's a beautifully imagined scifi world in which two characters fall into a youthful crazy love. Of course it becomes silly at times, but it never loses its intelligence or its heart. It also has some delightfully awful puns. Find yourself an afternoon or evening and lose yourself in this inventive romance.
