Devil May Care by Angel Lawson, Samantha Rue
5.0

This is my first book written by angel and sam together. I was not really sure when I stumbled across it. But holy cow, this book had me drawn in almost immediately. The story started off fast and reeled you in from the prologue. I’m always a big fan of books with multiple (two in this case) POV. It helps me get inside the mind of both of our main characters. The amount of detail gave you such a surreal picture for both characters. The scenes were painted like a detailed mural. Such description and precision you could feel the scenes played out.

Gwen is from an elite family, however, she’s adopted so she is not perceived as an elitist but rather trash. An event that occurred left her ‘canceled’ at school. Meaning no one could talk or associate with her. She was a top student and an excellent swimmer. Her arch nemesis, Hamilton, was the top devil of the school. An elitist from the best family pedigree money could buy. He is also competitive and has top grades and is an amazing swimmer. They butt heads like two angry rams. Their story is full of surprise, shock, anger, sadness, and of course elatedness.

This book was really one of my favorite stand alones I’ve read. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a bully romance with enemies to lovers. You will not be disappointed with this story. I’m extremely happy I found it.
