Pearce Oysters by Joselyn Takacs
3.5

A lot of fine character development that, in the end, seems to evaporate into a formless mist (like the dispersant mist!) rather than truly making meaning out of it. Some of the book is a fine portrait of the impact of the Deep Water Horizon oil spill, bringing home the economic and personal impact of it on local people and businesses, but for such a dramatic happening and time, there is a curious lack of drama in the plot overall. The epilogue is a dry, tie-it-up quickly affair.
