I Kissed Shara Wheeler by Casey McQuiston

2.0

57% into the book and it is one of the worst things i have ever read in my life.

let's begin with: what the hell is chloe's character about other than she's just being a shitty friend and just as obsessed with shara wheeler just like everyone is?

i hate this book even more than i thought i would. for all the shit where chloe says that she's an excellent judge of character and she doesn't like shara wheeler that much because she's apparently her academic rival, she sure is quick to drop everything like her plans with her real friends at the first chance she gets to figure out the kind of person shara wheeler really is. and look at how it turned out ! i've been anticipating this outcome since like, 30% into the book ??? honestly. it's to be expected.

i understand where she comes from, about not wanting her friends to judge her and all that shit, does it give you an excuse to be a shitty friend though? no.

"maybe she doesn't need her friends, who seem perfectly fine joking around in the parking lot before school without her, or rory and smith, or anyone. maybe this is good practice for life after high school, where she'll have to rely on herself for everything."

say sike right now you treated your friends like one-time use wrapper, comes around only when you need them and then disappear again on your supposedly 'revenge to shara wheeler and exposing her' once you got what you need from them and NOW you're gaslighting yourself ?????

i couldn't care less about what happened for the rest of the book. i don't care if there is some kind of character redemption stuff in there because whatever happened i will never come to like chloe's character anyway.
